Participant Learning Objectives
This interactive 2-day workshop will engage participants in activities designed to build skills in applying best practices in Indian Education. Specifically, participants will be able to integrate culture into their own classroom curriculum using Native Education Solutions’ Curriculum Conversion Guide.
Presenter
Dianne Allen has 26 years in the field of Indian Education. She taught in Head Start, 2nd, 4th, and 8th Grades for
the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. She worked in the University of Idaho’s Child Development Lab. She co-authored the Crisis Child Care curriculum for the State of Idaho Department of Health & Human Services. Dianne worked as Minority Student Services Coordinator at the University of Idaho before returning to her tribe as Director of Education. In that capacity, she developed the tribe’s language, youth, and Early Childhood programs, including the Early Childhood Learning Center where she has now been Director for 4 years.
Native Education Solutions also provides consulting services in the following areas to programs desiring to increase their cultural programming, but lack time and/or expertise.
